Why I'm Building Waymaker: Because AI Is Changing Everything and Most People Aren't Ready

This isn't a product announcement. It's a mission statement.

I've spent 20+ years building technology products. I've seen every wave — web, mobile, cloud, social. None of them compare to what's happening right now with AI. And here's what scares me: most people are going to get left behind. Not because they're not smart enough. Because the tools aren't meeting them where they are.

The gap I see every day

I talk to founders, small business owners, and creators every single day. They're smart. They're ambitious. They know AI matters. And they're stuck.

Not because AI is too hard — but because:

  • There are 15,000 AI tools and no clear guidance on which ones matter
  • Every tutorial assumes you're a developer or a prompt engineer
  • The "AI influencers" are selling courses, not solving problems
  • The enterprise tools cost $50K/year and the free tools are confusing
  • Nobody is connecting the dots between "AI exists" and "here's how it fits YOUR specific business"

That gap — between AI's potential and people's ability to capture it — is why Waymaker exists.

What I believe

I believe AI should be an equalizer, not an accelerator of inequality.

Right now, the people benefiting most from AI are the ones who were already technical, already well-resourced, already ahead. That's not a technology problem — it's an access problem. The technology is available to everyone. The knowledge of how to use it effectively is not.

I believe the best AI tool is the one you actually use.

Not the most powerful. Not the most feature-rich. Not the one with the best benchmark scores. The one that fits your workflow, speaks your language, and helps you make progress today — not after a 6-week learning curve.

I believe founders and small business owners deserve the same AI capabilities as Fortune 500 companies.

Big companies have AI teams, consultants, and million-dollar budgets. Solo founders have a ChatGPT subscription and hope. Waymaker bridges that gap. Cameron AI isn't just a chatbot — he's a co-pilot who knows your business, tracks your progress, and pushes you to ship.

What Waymaker actually is

It's the tool I wished existed when I was building my first product.

  • Cameron AI — not a generic assistant, but a business partner who knows your product, your market, and your goals. He has 48 tools at his disposal and he remembers every conversation.
  • The Brain — a 10-phase guided journey from idea to launch. Not another project management tool — a structured path that makes sure you validate before you build, ship before you're ready, and grow with real data.
  • 50+ AI Agents — specialized for every business task. Content creation, market research, financial planning, legal review, design generation. One founder with Waymaker has the capability of a 10-person team.
  • AI Game Plan — our consulting service for businesses that want hands-on help. We audit your workflows, find your AI opportunities, and build the systems. Starting at $149.

The shift that's coming

AI isn't just changing tools. It's changing what it means to build a business.

The next generation of successful companies won't be built by the people with the most money or the biggest teams. They'll be built by the people who best understand how to leverage AI — who know how to think in systems, build with automation, and scale with intelligence instead of headcount.

That shift is happening right now. Not in 5 years. Not next year. Right now. Every month that passes, the early adopters pull further ahead. Every month of hesitation widens the gap.

Why I'm building in public

Because the polished founder narrative is a lie. Building a company is messy, uncertain, and full of doubt. I'd rather share the real version — the mistakes, the pivots, the 2am decisions that turned out wrong — than pretend I have it all figured out.

If you're building something too, follow along. If you're stuck, reach out. If you need help with AI, that's literally what we do.

The future is being built right now. Let's make sure more people get to participate in it.
