Founding Actor Growth Report
Diagnosis of the Founding Actor invite campaign's performance to date, what the data says about where signups are actually being lost, and the recommended next steps — email copy, invite volume, and acquisition channels.
Executive Summary
The email is working. The leak is downstream of it.
Three things to take away from this report
- Top-of-funnel is still healthy. A 35.3% open rate and 21.8% clicks-per-unique-open both still beat typical benchmarks for an invite-only send — the email is doing its job of getting people to click through.
- The bottleneck is still between click and completed registration — and it's more pronounced now. 12 people have clicked through across 160 total sends, up from 10 of 107 at the last check. The 53 additional sends since then produced only 2 more clicks — a thinner marginal return than the first wave — while signups remain slow.
- Priority order unchanged, now more urgent: fix the registration flow first, polish the email in parallel, hold off on scaling invite volume or new channels until the leak below the email is closed — otherwise more invites just produce more un-converted clicks.
1
Campaign performance to date
Aggregated across the full invite sequence sent so far — A1 Pilot First Group, A1 Pilot Invite 2nd Group, A2 Actor Follow-Up, and the A3.2/A3.3 drip stages. The Founding Actor Survey campaigns are a separate funnel, broken out in §1a below.
| Funnel stage | Count | Rate | Read |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sent | 160 | — | Across invite + follow-up + drip campaigns |
| Opened | 55 | 35.3% | Above benchmark — not a deliverability or subject-line issue |
| Clicked | 12 | 21.8% of opens | Above benchmark — the email copy and CTA are working |
| Registered | ? — pull from product data | unknown | The missing number that pinpoints the size of the leak |
1a — Founding Actor Survey (separate funnel)
| Campaign | Status | Recipients | Open rate | Click rate |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pilot Actor Survey | Sent | 36 | 41.7% | 5.6% |
| Resend: Pilot Actor Survey | Sent | 7 (non-openers) | 14.3% | — |
Audience overall: 671 total contacts (669 email subscribers), net +671 in the last 90 days — the list is growing faster than the invite sequence is currently reaching, which supports prioritizing the registration-flow fix over expanding invite volume further.

Diagnosis
Top-of-funnel is not the problem
Both the open rate and click-through-on-open beat typical benchmarks for this kind of send. The invite email is successfully getting curious people to click through — it is not the reason signups are slow.
The leak is between click and completed registration
12 people have clicked through across 160 sends, and "not a lot of signups" implies most of those 12 did not finish creating an account. That drop-off happens on the registration/onboarding flow itself — not in the inbox.
The one number that would confirm this diagnosis
How many of the 12 clicks became completed AstraLynk accounts? If it's 0-2 of 12, the registration flow is the clear, urgent fix. The Full / Standard / Simple registration prototypes hosted alongside this report exist specifically to test which version reduces that drop-off — worth running a few of those 12 clickers through them directly if possible.

Recommendations
3.1 — Registration flow (priority)
Identify the exact drop-off point
Pull completed-registration count against the 12 clicks. If possible, watch (or ask) a couple of the clickers where they stalled.
Compare against the Full / Standard / Simple prototypes
Use the field count and step structure differences between the three hosted versions to identify which reduces friction — then build the winner.
3.2 — Email copy (parallel, lower urgency)
Full before/after and ready-to-build copy in the Appendix below. Summary: pick one CTA phrase and repeat it everywhere, move the offer + scarcity line above the fold, sign from a named founder.
3.3 — Invite volume
| Invite source | Typical invite → signup | Invites for 25-30 founding actors |
|---|---|---|
| Warm / personally referred | 20-40% | ~80-125 |
| Curated partner (newsletter, coach) | 8-15% | ~200-300 |
| Cold list / cold email | 1-5% | ~600-2,500 |
Hold off on scaling volume until the registration-flow leak is closed — more invites into a leaky funnel produce more un-converted clicks, not more founding actors.
3.4 — Acquisition channels, once the leak is fixed
Actor-focused newsletter placement
Highest-fit channel — pre-qualified audience, borrowed trust.
Acting coach / studio partnerships
One relationship can seed 10-30 warm, high-engagement users at once.
Referral loop from current founding actors
Extend free days for successful referrals — turns the existing list into a multiplier.
Conservatory / university drama programs
Bulk, engaged cohorts and a strong case-study source.

Additional Call to action tests: Rewritten invite email — ready to build
Same voice and hook as the current send — restructured so the offer leads and one CTA phrase repeats throughout. Bracketed items need your input before build.
